Happy birthday, Braden...He's 11!

Thursday, the 23rd was my second baby's 11th birthday. Every year on their birthday, I take them out to eat...just them and me and Braden chose Shoney's this year. It was fun.
Then later that evening, it was party time! We had such a good turn out. We grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, and of course, had cake and ice cream. It was a good day.
All I have ever wanted for my children is that they love the Lord with all their heart and follow Him. Braden is trying to do just that and I am so (for lack of a better word) proud he's my son. He's got the most generous spirit and wants to help me all he can. He's so willing to pitch in and do what's needed and is constantly asking me what he can do to help. After every meal, he hugs me and says thanks Mom...you work so hard. What a blessing he is!

Yep, still couponing and loving it!!

A while back, I posted about learning how to coupon. It's more than just using a coupon. It's learning how to coupon effectively. I learned this by going online to southernsavers.com and there, Jenny will teach you like she taught me. I've been doing this since September and I just get better and better at it. It's really worth it to me. Look what I got this week: This is stuff that I got for free!
This is stuff I got for under 50 cents
As a wife and mother, it thrills me to be able to save our family money.

Week 3 of Story Time @ the Library

This week we talked about quilts. Each child was to bring a quilt or blanket that someone had made for them. I am very fortunate to have a sister who has given each of my children a beautiful quilt when they were born. And I have a wonderful grandmother who still quilts the old fashioned way and I have several of her quilts. Zek and Colt got to stand up and show off their little quilts. It was cute. Here's Miss Josephine (Miss Bee) telling a story
Here's Miss Kitty telling us a story while she is wrapped up in her quilt.

Ministering to the soldiers

We have had the honor and privilege of having a church service for our local soldiers once a month for a couple of years now. I can't explain the (for lack of a better word) pride I feel when standing in front of these men and women who have given themselves for our country. I am so thankful for this opportunity.

Week 2 of Story Time @ the Library

Miss Josephine gave some of the history of how America was started and it being Flag Day, here we are saying the pledge, which sadly, is a lost art these days. It was such a blessing to see all these little ones with their hands over their hearts pledging to our great nation. But I'm afraid most of them don't even know what it's all about. Thank You, Lord, for letting me be born free and born again!!
