Happy Birthday, Colt...the big 7!!

Today, Colt is 7! He has become one of the sweetest 7 year olds I have ever known. And no, I don't say this simply because I am his mother, but because so many others say it of him as well. He is truly a sweetheart. He is such a good boy...always helping...always doing something. It doesn't matter what it is. If it needs doing, he'll do it. He's never idle. He's always busy. That's why he goes to sleep first and sleeps the hardest haha He is truly a gift from the Lord and a real blessing to this family. We love him so much.

Here he is the day he was born. They had to take him via c-section after being in labor for several hours. He simply would not come out. It was the worst labor and recovery ever, but he was so very worth it!

Happy Birthday, man...we love you so much!!

I love it even more this time of year.  They decorate so beautifully for fall. I enjoy just walking around and seeing the sights.  We went today but it turned out to be a bad day to go. I think everybody in the world was on fall break lol Seriously.. an hour and a half for the Lightning Rod. We're not used to that. Most of the time when we go we hardly wait at all.  Still to this day we have not gotten to ride the Lightning Rod. But we will go back in a few days when folks are back in school. Can't wait to finally ride it :) but it was a beautiful perfect day regardless. I just love taking off and being with my family.

We have found an awesome science curriculum called The lady that does it is a NASA scientist. She has dedicated her life to helping kids love science. She offers tons of free science videos, experiments, and lessons to give kids the knowledge they need. I get an email from her almost daily so that I will have all the lessons I need for my kids. She has geared it so that Gunner learns, as well as Braden. We love it. It's awesome. Here's a video from one of their first experiments...a flying contraption that mathematically is not supposed to fly, but it does ;) And we are super pumped about tomorrow. She is doing a live online class in the morning. We can't wait to watch.

Well, I am a year older as of Wednesday. No, I don't feel any different...yes, I'm closer to 40. Why do people say that? lol  Anyway, we got some stressful news this week so it's been a very emotionally draining week. But despite that, God is good...all the time. He has brought me through so much I'm not quitting now and I told the devil so. Our preacher preached two very wonderful sermons on Sunday and then WHAM! The devil sure knows how to mess with us. But I told him he's not getting my family, my joy, or my peace. God is just too good! So we've spent a lot of time as a family this week...talking...being outside...going to the park. Just enjoying being together. Because at the end of the day, that's all that matters. Scott and I have a some decisions to make...things to plan; and we need wisdom and discernment that only God can give. We need lots of prayer at this time. We would greatly appreciate it. God will take care of us. He always has and He always will. Here are a few pictures of some time we spent together this week.

Hey everyone...just got a few pictures for you. Just things that have been going on for the last couple weeks. We started school the day after Labor Day...busy busy busy lol  And we've had a few fun days, too mixed in. Here's some school you can see Ryder is hard at work lol

Then on September 16th, Gunner turned 3! He shares the same birthday month with his cousin, Dane so this year Becky and I decided to have their parties together. Here are a few from their Thomas the Train party.

And then last, but definitely not least, just some fun family days we've had together :) Hope you enjoy!

Well, folks, a lot has happened in the last few weeks. Saddest of all was my wonderful Granny going home to be with the Lord. Not sad for her, of course, but sad for all of us who loved her so much. She was the most precious, sweetest lady that walked this earth. The greatest example of the Proverbs woman. She loved the Lord and her love for her family showed in everything she did. I miss her sweetness so much. I want to be just like her when I grow up :) Here she is with my Papaw who went to Heaven a few years ago.
Our sweet Daniel tuned 11 this week! I know everybody says where has the time gone. But seriously, when we bought our house he was a baby. I just can't believe he's 11 now and about to go into the 6th grade. I mentioned before that he's playing football for Lenoir City. Here's a few pictures from his very first game. They won by the way :) He's the one wearing #18...for Manning when he played for the Broncos :)

Also, this is my last weekend to enjoy myself before we start back homeschooling. Our first day is the day after Labor Day. I am schooling 5 this year and having a toddler in the mix is, to say the least, quite interesting...for lack of a better word lol Ryder is a senior this year, Braden, a junior, Daniel, 6th, Zek, 3rd, and Colt 1st. We're using all different kinds of curriculum this year. I always look on ebay and amazon for deals on school books. I got some great deals this time around. We're using some Bob Jones, Rod and Staff, Alpha and Omega, Math U See, and CLE to name a few. We appreciate prayer for our family as we school this year. I sometime lose focus on why I homeschool in the midst of all the stress and chaos. But I am thankful for the privilege and opportunity and the right to homeschool my children. I'll post more pictures later as we begin our year.
